Social Recruiting Update – New Twitter Look

by Neil Costa on September 29, 2010

Social Media Recruiting and Twitter are a big part of today’s recruiting strategy.  See the New Twitter Look.

Twitter takes on a new look and I think it is a very solid update for them.  It is a little busier than before but it provides a better dashboard into what is happening with your account and the action surrounding that account.

I think anyone who is serious about social recruiting and using Twitter should dig in and use the new look as soon as you can.  There appears to be some implications for your employer brand.  Some good and some bad.

- If you designed a Twitter background template, you will probably have to go back to the drawing board.  Twitter takes up more real estate on the page and let’s face it – we weren’t dealing with much to begin with.

- You – It is now about you on your Twitter profile.  The logo/image spot is larger and your description is more important since they have a very prominent, above the fold spot.

- The link to your site is also dead center.  A much better “call to action” for anyone checking you out.

Kudos to our friends in the city by the bay.  I think they have done a good job on the new twitter.  Gear up your social recruiting efforts and dig back into twitter so you can make the most of these changes.
