At HireClix, we feel as though we do a good job staying on top of trends, technology and news. We act as an advisor to our clients – so it’s our job. When it comes to the unemployment numbers, it seems as though there is a lot of hype around the macro numbers. But many of the true stories are found by digging deeper into the numbers.
We took a closer look at the numbers by education level over the last three months. Guess what? If you are hiring people who have a college degree – Get hiring! Simply, the people you want to hire are not being affected much anymore by the economic downturn. The unemployment rate for people with a bachelor’s degree or higher is just a hair over 4%. Software engineers, accountants, nurses, tech pros, and people with advanced degrees are very much in demand. Take a look at the chart below based on the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics job report.
That’s a bachelor’s folks, which is pretty much the price of admission to the workforce. Stop wasting time. No more excuses. Get your hiring strategy in gear. As part of ramping up your recruiting you need to truly evaluate your recruitment marketing mix.
There are many new channels that require today’s recruiting teams to go beyond job boards and you need to consider your game plan for Facebook recruiting, Recruiting SEO, pay-per-click recruiting, targeted recruitment ads and social recruiting programs.
